This performance was their first official appearance since the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Division 50 ruled in favor of ADOR’s injunction on March 21, prohibiting NJZ members from signing contracts or engaging in activities without the company’s approval.
The event attracted thousands of fans who eagerly showed support for NewJeans, and here, te girl group surprised fans with dramatically different styles. In particular, Danielle greeted the crowd with golden blonde hair cut into a short bob, while Minji also caught attention with her newly dyed red long hair. The members delivered an energetic performance, connecting with their international fanbase. Additionally, NJZ (NewJeans) took to their social media, posting, “See u soon guys~ can’t wait!!” and “My heart is pounding”, expressing their excitement from the event.
On top of that, each member delivered solo covers of various songs instead of performing NewJeans songs. In particular, Danielle performed TLC’s “No Scrubs”, Minji delivered a cover for Upsahl’s “Smile for the Camera”, Haerin sang The Internet’s “Don’t Cha”, Hyein covered SWV’s “use your heart”, and Hanni covered “My Boo”. The girl group has also introduced a new song titled “PIT STOP” at the event.
Following their stages, NewJeans also announced that they will be temporarily suspending all independent activities, stating, “It is with a heavy heart that we share this news. Today’s performance might be our last one for a while. In respect of the court’s decision, we have decided to temporarily halt all activities. It was not an easy decision, but we believe it is a necessary one at this moment.
On the other hand, following the court’s granting of an injunction that legally reinforced NewJeans; contractual ties to ADOR and prohibited them from engaging in independent activities, the members expressed disappointment and announced their plans to file an objection.
